HYROX?

HYROX combines eight functional exercises with eight 1 km running. The goal? Go the course as fast as possible! With multiple categories, such as Individual Pro, Individual Open, Relay and Doubles, there is an appropriate challenge for every fitness level. THE EIGHT

HYROX-STATIONS

  1. SkiErg-Simulate a cross-country move on a machine that challenges your upper body and endurance.
  2. Sled Push-Push forward a heavily loaded sled. This station will test your explosive power and foot power.
  3. Sled Pull-Pull a sled backwards with a rope. This exercise will require strength in your arms, back and legs.
  4. Burpee Broad Jumps - Combine burpees with far-forward skipping, a spicy test for your cardio and core stability.
  5. Rowing-Rowing a set distance as soon as possible. This station combines strength and endurance.
  6. Farmers Carry-Carry heavy weights as you travel a distance, which challenges your grip strength and core stability.
  7. Sandbag Lunges-Perform lunges with a heavy sandbag on your shoulders, perfect for strengthening your legs and balance.
  8. Wall Balls-Throw a ball against a high wall from a squat position. This station trains your explosiveness and condition.

THE HYROX CATEGORIES

WHICH ONE SUITS YOU?

HYROX is for everyone, whether you participate as an individual or in a team. Let's briefly explain the different categories:

  1. Individual Pro: This is the category for the seasoned athlete. With heavier weights and more intense exercises, this is the ultimate test course. Here you are challenged to go deep both physically and mentally.
  2. Individual Open: A perfect choice for those who are new to HYROX or who are looking for a stiff challenge without the extreme heaviness of the Pro category. Here the weights are lighter, but the effort remains great.
  3. Doubles: In the doubles category, you work with a partner. You divide the exercises and miles of running so you can support each other and reach the finish line together. Ideal for duos who want to become stronger together!
  4. Relay (Relay): Gather a team of four people and divide the 8 workouts and 8 kilometers of running. Each team member does two parts, making teamwork and strategy crucial. Perfect for groups that want to compete together and help each other to the finish line!

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE

ON HYROX?

HYROX is accessible to everyone, regardless of your experience or fitness level. No special qualifications are required to compete in most races, although some events may require that you pre-register or have completed a specific distance at a training session.

HYROX offers different age groups to ensure that participants with similar fitness levels and ages compete against each other. The age groups are usually as follows:

RECORDS AND AVERAGE FINISH TIMES?

Hunter Mcintyre has achieved the highest score in the men. In 2023 he set a time of 00:53:22 in Stockholm. Among the women, this is Lauren Weeks. In 2024 she set a time of 00:58:03 in Vienna.
